Birds

Birds in urban areas usually cause numerous problems, especially in buildings, and can be considered a pest. So, in most cases it is necessary to protect buildings, homes or workplaces. It is important to know that in many countries there are laws that protect many of these species, since they are related to the conservation of natural spaces, flowers and wild fauna, as well as many regulations, laws and environmental sectors that protect certain threatened species.

The Dove (Columba livia)

It is a bird that has adapted perfectly to the urban environment. So its control will always be a difficult issue. The Common Pigeon (Columba Livia) is a relative of the rock pigeon (Columba Livia), native to southern Eurasia and northern Africa. It weighs about 315-410 grams and measures about 20-37 cm. Their appearance varies greatly. The most similar to wild pigeons are distinguished from these by presenting two black stripes at the end of their wings and a wide black stripe on their tail. Body colour may vary.

Seagulls (Larus spp)

Seagulls are a special and growing problem, not just in areas near the sea. For example, they are found in very large numbers in landfills. Given the large size of some seagulls – the silver one is for example almost 70cm long and has a wingspan of more than 1.5 meters -, they cause problems with their droppings, and may even attack people. Seagulls can use dormitory buildings and look for food in the sea, on the street and in the fields.

The Starling ( Sturnus Vulgaris)

Starlings are birds that can be found in huge numbers, and this is when they cause serious problems with their droppings. They tend to feed outside the city in open spaces such as in gardens and parks. Starlings can cause problems even in the absence of nearby food since they can use the city, buildings, trees, etc., only as a bedroom.

The house sparrow (passer domesticus)

Sparrows are extremely agile, persistent, and intelligent small birds. They can cause serious problems inside warehouses and buildings, especially where food is stored or traded. In these places they can consume stored food and also contaminate what they do not consume with excrement, feathers, etc.

Prevention

In general, there are many techniques used in the control of Urban Birds, which are adapted to the government regulations imposed by each country, also respecting its biodiversity, ecosystem and spaces for their normal life. We recommend not leaving garbage containers without proper protection, sealing hard-to-reach spaces where they can make nests.

System against birds

Check our methods and products (Ultra-sound, Gel, Red, Barbed wire, Electrical Systems and Invisible Systems) in Bird Control treatments, approved by the respective health and environmental health bodies of your country. We will develop an integrated plan that adapts to your needs, to solve your problem quickly, efficiently and safely.
